Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season introduces a large cast of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people create a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
